Well the other day i was at the thrift shop on my way home and i was looking at the pictures and i noticed this picture on the top of the rack. It really captured my eye and for only 5.00 dollars i decided to grab it. I knew it was signed but didnt have much battery on my phone to look it up at the store so i just waited until i got home. I went online and at first wasnt coming up with nothing but then i stumbled across the name of "Mike Larsen". I was wanting to get your opinion if you think this was done by him? This an original as i already looked through it with a magnifying glass and saw paint and brush marks. It is framed and behind glass. If you have any info on possibly value as well? Thank you for your time helping me out! sorry for the glare spots by the way! larsen1.jpg larsen2.jpg larsen3.jpg

It sure looks right, fingers crossed for you .By the way,PSA stands for pastel society of america and they dont let people use that unless they are highly thought of.

Great find. I love it. Great technique, and he captured the spirit of the man beautifully.

If it's signed with PSA, wouldn't it be likely that this is a pastel?

This is a good clarification for when Rink28 makes a contact to Martha at the studio. The initial post mentioned seeing "paint and brush marks". If you do contact the studio, tell them it is a pastel.

Being a pastel would explain why it was framed under glass, something that's not typically done with oils.

Wow! Hope it genuine, can’t see why it wouldn’t be from the looks of things. Mike Larsens is a very well thought of artist, great Native American portraits. His prices aren’t anything to be brushed off either, very impressive.

He doesn’t generally put PSA on his works but maybe closer to him becoming a member he chose to put it on his newer works. Definately should contact the artist, always cool to get any perspective they have on the work too :artist::happy:
