Any ideas about age/origin of this? I don't even know where to start. I believe the red and green pieces are glass, not sure about the yellow. Thank you.

Lovely, drg. It looks like a Historic Revival style called 'Holbeinesque', after the 16th century painter Hans Holbein the Younger.
Holbeinesque started ca 1860, but I think yours is a revival of a revival.;)

Thanks AJ, very interesting. I've done some searches and seen quite amazing stuff, nothing much like mine which looks crude and recent in comparison. I guess I could call it 20th century Holbeinesque style?
Here's a photo of the mesh choker it came on. I'm not sure why I removed it, but I think I like them together. What do you think?

All I can say is that this a very unusual piece. I haven't seen anything like it, new or old.

    It's beautiful!

Almost wondering if you should check the choker for gold content.

If it's newer, maybe a museum replica or something revival as AJ mentioned??

Curious, how do you get the pendant on the necklace?

The pendant right now is just laying on top of the choker. I got it off by opening the jump ring to detach the clasp on one side.

Meh, if you don't like it, I'll take it off your hands as a public service.

From the way the bail is made, I'd be thinking late 1960s "revival". It's made to look like one of the really old pieces without actually fooling anyone. The stone ring might be real stone and might even be real jade; there was a fad for "genuine jade" pieces made of base metal and low-grade stone for a while.

Look into vintage 'Patrice' jewellery. (The new stuff looks a little different.)

A Q&D pic of one I have. Not as yellow as light is making it.

The back panel has a winged scarab. The belcher chain is at least 2 feet long with no clasp.

Yup, In looking at Patrice items, I saw many similar pendants and a few with the exact same chain.
    Thank you Bronwen!

You could, but Patrice seems to call it Contemporary Heirloom Jewelry. They still make some stunning pieces.

It isn't jade or chrysoprase, with those flecks, but not aventurine either, different flecks.;)
They call their 'stones' Bavarian glass and synthetic. To me the yellowish and green look like resin, the red cab like glass. All very good quality.

The red cabochon tested as glass on the Presidium II, and the other 2 did not move the needle. The green seems like glass to me.

Some good quality synthetic materials can be glass-like.

Maybe @Bronwen can tell us what the material of the green(?) disc on her pendant is?:)
