Hello, any thoughts on this please? It translates to something like 'Cry with me, maybe it's still freezing' or ' cry with me maybe it's freezing again' according to google. Coin diameter is 20mm, it's silver but not sure what grade. Once a 50 Pfennig perhaps? I don't know but it's intriguing.

 

If that word is frier F. - I think it refers to a man.

I am trying to decipher the inscription, but it is very rubbed; it is also a mixture of the Latin and German alphabet and I cannot identify the first Letters

translates to: ... don't cry, maybe it will freeze again/once again.

It has always been a pendant, never a (reworked) coin.

 

I read it as friert or friert's but could be wrong, I don't know any German at all. Friert es?

 

friert's = friert es

in English: it freezes, because of grammar rules you have what is called an inversion and the subject of the sentence comes after the verb

Thank you, I've had this a few months and when I first tried to translate it this is what I found but can't remember which site I was on. Interesting that it's always been a pendant, I just assumed it would have been made from a coin.

 

wow could be, I hadn't thought of that. Got it on ebay, months ago, the seller hadn't been able to translate it and I was the only bidder. When it dropped through my letterbox and I tried translating it the words were actually quite relevant to my personal situation at the time, which was kind of freaky. I've spent ages thinking of different scenarios that could have been the story behind this inscription all those years ago.
