Got these at one of those out in the middle of nowhere Grunge sales. I was told they were Baby christening hats from the late 1800's. Can't seem to find anything similar online. The one I did see was Native American and had beaded animals (not floral). I wasn't going to buy both because the more decorative cap has some, not easily repaired, damage but something in me said, "why not" especially at $7.00. (I'm such a cheapskate) Hoping someone will have some insights.

I have to say, I am always so very impressed by yall. You are appreciated, even for just looking. Thank you. baby hats 1.jpg baby hats 2.jpg baby hats 3.jpg baby hats 4.jpg baby hats 5.jpg

Certainly not baby caps. Apart from danger of baby swallowing beads, pattern would be upside down. Christening caps are typically white in a sheer fabric such as silk, cotton lawn or lace.

Makes so much more sense. Thank you. Were they just not finished or did the closure part get some how lost in the shuffle?

Gorgeous purses. In great condition and such a bargain! That first one might be Native American. Those florals look similar to some of the traditional patterns of the eastern woodland tribes. Great find.
