    Hello everyone! :)
I recently bought this ring and fell in love with it! I was wondering how old it is or what year it was assayed? Someone in a different group told me around 1890. Does that seem true? I just wanted to see what other people think! I've been trying to google the marks but all I find is hallmarks for silver. Not sure if they use the same date letters for gold and silver? I would appreciate any insight! 233.jpg 23.jpg

Late Victorian, the hallmark is for Chester 1894.

It looks in very nice condition for the period too.

Yay I am so glad. I have been looking for a genuine Victorian ring for a while. Yes it is in a very good condition. The shank isn't even thinned out.

Out of interest did the seller know what the stones were, or have you had them tested? Generally from this period blue stones are usually sapphire in the ones I have had (I don't find much blue glass from this time). The white stones can be either way, diamond or glass although white sapphire turns up sometimes as well.

Gorgeous, I would have had my beady eyes on that too.;)
And these look like the sought after Cornflower Blue Sri Lankan sapphires.

I've one just like this, gifted to me by an elderly friend in the mid 70s. Certainly sapphire.

Yes, the date letters are generally the same.

The seller said they are sapphires and diamonds. I have not had them tested yet though

Now I am trying to find a corny little vintage ring box for it haha. ( I saw one that was shaped like a shield I thought it was great!) I didn't know how expensive they were though

You can look on ebay. There are usually some nice ones there, but prices vary. Check the 'auction' box, some ebay auctions don't have many bidders.
