Featured Christian Dior? Or not?

I may have gone on a little bargain treasure hunt this weekend:)
This necklace has me confused and i’d be grateful for other opinions. The clasp is marked Chr. Dior and looks right for their pearl necklaces however....starting at the clasp we have
    1)Freshwater real pearls.
2)Round pearls, think simulated as they seem to have some lacquer? which is peeling off, under the lacquer they are beautifully iridescent.
3)I don’t normally get excited by stick pearls but these are stunning- so iridescent they are almost metallic.
Is this an odd combination?, original to the clasp? Or the freshies added by someone who wanted extra length? Or just a random clasp made up into a necklace?
Approx 45cm (so 90cm end to end, hang to just below bust level)
I’m tempted to gently peel the lacquer off the round pearls but not if it’s genuine CD in any part! Maybe just the round pearls are the genuine bit.....
    Help please :)
    Thankyou.

Sorry the first & last pics are out of focus, don’t know how that happened, light is poor maybe.

I can see why you'd be puzzled. The clasp is right, of course, but the necklace doesn't have the design vocabulary I'd expect from the house. Still, CHRISTIAN DIOR was the first multi-category licensee and all sorts of product turns up under the brand's name. Does it look as if it might be restrung?

If so it’s been done tightly and well. It’s on some sort of white very flexible wire like stuff. Ideally I need to handle the real deal to compare but that’s not going to happen!
I’ve just noticed there are two spacer beads on one side of the clasp and one on the other side and there are two random ones in the middle. That seals it for me as being a restring.
I’ll research vintage round CD pearls and I’ll see if this delamination on the beads is a common occurrence.

The mark is 1960s-1970s but those stick pearls didn't become ubiquitous until China flooded the market with inexpensive semi-precious stones and pearls in the 1990s. Think a piece done by a craftsperson using an old clasp. I wouldn't expect CHRISTIAN DIOR faux pearls to lose their coating. I vote no. Just not the level of design sophistication and the quality I'd expect from the brand.

I think someone reused that clasp.

    I agree.
Thankyou for your thoughts on this and taking the time to reply. I’ve got another broken CD necklace and some good earrings so I may put it all together in a lot to sell with the description that only the clasp is CD or I may take it apart as I rather like those stick pearls!

I agree that it's a reused clasp. If you look at the clasp on the bracelet in the link, you will see that there are foldover bead covers on the ends of the bead string, to which to clasp is attached, not just a wire around a jump ring, and the double crimp looks amateurish. And one side has two jump rings while the other side has one. Also not real keen on the seed beads as spacers. I'd take out the damaged pearl beads and seed beads, and add some sterling or hill tribe silver spacers to lengthen the natural round pearl sections.
