Featured Garuda carving

    Want to confirm the ID of this piece. 'Garuda carving from Bali.' 25 inches tall. Guessing it's 50 years old ? The quality seems rather nice on this. Any other details on these carvings ? s-l1600 (39).jpg s-l1600 (38).jpg s-l1600 (45).jpg

    It isn't from Bali, it is from Thailand or one of its neighbours.
    I don't say this very often;), but I think it is older. It is a good piece.

    One further question; what type of wood is this likely to be, it seems pretty dense like a hardwood with good weight.
