Featured Pillivuyt Vase Dating

    This fabulous vase arrived today. It stands 30cm tall and is in lovely condition.

    It’s signed CP&Co Mehun I think it’s c1880

    Any thoughts?

    So that would probably make it a little later, pate-sur-pate if I recall took off in the UK around 1895 with Louis Solon leading the way, and the Limoges and French factories following a little behind.

    If the flowers are more like those on the Minton 'cloisonne' ware, and fired enamel then it would be earlier as you mention, perhaps 1880's or a little before then. I think the style leans perhaps more to this. I don't have that mark in my books to pin a date range on though.

    It seems Louis Solon arrived in England in 1870 and started at Minton's then. :)

    I rather stupidly forgot that I have a book on pate sur pate . Seem that it may be by Alphonse Lamarre 1878
