I've been collecting 3 Stooges memorabilia for 31 years. I have items from the 1920s to items from recent years. I mostly collect up to 1969. If anybody comes across any vintage Three Stooges memorabilia for sale I'd love to hear about it. I recently purchased these 1930s hand puppets.

venicecard.jpg Yes indeed. They started in vaudeville working for a top paid vaudevillian named Ted Healy. Here is a 1920s post card advertising their appearance at the Shubert Theatre in New York.

All I know is that their manager was beaten to death in the parking lot of the Trocadero, and Wallace Beery had to take a European sojourn until the heat died down.

The death of Ted Healy has been falsely written in books. A wonderful author named Bill Cassara did all the research and correctly reported Healy's death the same way the coroner did. He died of heart failure from inflamed kidney nephritis triggered by his drinking binge.

I just read an article about how Curly's grandson only found out he was related when he was a teenager. They were on the road traveling so the man's mother didn't see her father very often. The grandmother remarried and didn't want the family talking about Curly so it was a family secret. Interesting.

Yes that is Bradley Server. One of several grandchildren of Curly Howard.
I first read his story in the Curly biography book published in 1985. I've met Bradley several times. Curly was married 4 times and has 2 daughters from two of his marriages.
Both daughters are alive and have attended 3 stooges conventions.
They have both told their stories in 3 stooges documentaries, some that can now be found on YouTube.

I know that set of puppets that @Vernon216 won at auction literally 10 days before he joined Antiquers. Those little gems had a hammer price of $4500. Amazing condition. Was hoping that he would post more of his collection in this thread. I will take your guidance @komokwa and private message him as well to encourage his return.

The puppets actually cost $5,400 plus insurance and shipping. The hammer price of $4,500 did not include the 20% auction fee.
I've been collecting 3 Stooges memorabilia for 33 years. That was only the 2nd opportunity I ever had to bid on a set of puppets.
The 1st set I ever saw sell went for $10,000 over 25 years ago.

Thanks. I wasn't aware. Was simply responding to the person who asked if I come across one for his collection. Won't happen again.

    I understand.

In this case, it would be okay to send the person a private message.
