Featured Kokeshi dolls

Hello! I recently discovered these forums and I am glad to meet all of you!

I received as a gift from someone a collection of imperial Japan objects, including some kokeshi dolls. I would like to sell a few of them, but I do not know their true value. The person that gave them to me actually told me they were from the Emperor of Japan's Court! (Or someone important in Japan) They look indeed old and have a manual signature on the back, but I am not sure of their true value so I could sell them correctly.
I will attach a few photos of the ones I want to sell so you may look more closely.

Welcome to the forum. I have several dolls like these. My parents brought them home from Japan in the 1950’s. I can’t help with the story behind your dolls, but have heard similar stories over the years of attributions to important people. I would tend to be skeptical of any attributions. Someone on the forum may be able to translate the writing. As far as value, this forum is intended to help people learn about the history and origin of their items. I can recommend looking on eBay, I have seen several auctions over the years for them.

I also have other kokeshi dolls and vintage Japanese objects that look kinda royal so I wonder if it's true. I have too many dolls so I'm trying to sell half of them but I wanted if there is someone who can translate the writing. Know where I can post about it?

I do know that there are certain artists in Japan that are considered “National Treasures”, my Mom told me about the pieces in her collection that had that designation. Maybe that is part of your doll’s story.

 

You might try Reddit for translations.

Think the blue one is a Little Brother type, typically paired with a taller figure in red, Big Sister.
