Featured Antique Military Prints......

    We just saw something like these..........but these are mine...so...new thread.

    13 1/2 x 15 1/2 framed.....& yes I know the mats have leached acid on the prints.
    Which makes the label seem ..spurious..!

    Any and all comments about age.....or how nice they are, or how unique ..;),,,,r welcomed !

    The lines look like lithography (hand colored) to me, but they could still be of the period. And I could be wrong.

    I am with @moreotherstuff , that they look like lithographs rather than engravings. I suppose the one on liveauctioneers may have been misidentified, but they describe Henry Thomas Aiken as a painter and engraver. Lithography was invented in 1796, so they could still be early reproductions.

    Wikipedia says there's a collection of his illustrations in the British Museum, so that might be a site worth checking.

    so they are 1840's to 50's reprints, hand tinted lithographs.....
    am I correct to consider this ?
