    Oh, look I bought jools.

I've posted another brooch on the Bling Forum. This is a Victorian luckenbooth, unmarked silver. Cost me about a fiver.

Same nice seller sold me a busted silver filigree and scarab bracelet for a quid, and had found the odd earring to match the single I bought from her a month ago! Goldstone in brass.

A small Victorian copper ice cream bombe mould, 4.5" tall and 3.75" diameter, both pieces marked 1 for ease in matching lid to base in busy Victorian kitchens. I happily paid, including shipping, only $25 US due to the lid being stuck on. It took a lot of WD-40 and toothbrush work to get it undone! I’m considering sending it off with my antique French copper pan for retinning… but I’m not sure that I’d ever actually use it so it may not be worth the cost.
English or French, do you think? I'm leaning toward English. (The few signed examples I've seen were English.)

    1. No idea. Way out of my area of expertise.

That's Cookie. She spends 98% of her time on the window seat of the bay window... and the other 2% of her time at her food bowl.

Typical cat in other words. I just gave mine a liquid antibiotic. I could catch her since she was napping, but it's supposed to be given with food. Good luck with that one. Now we'll see if she shows back up any time soon!

Sure looks it. About the right price in these parts too for Avon.

Out of sheer curiosity - where do you get these copper pans re tinned. Am more interested in knowing if it can be done at home.
We used to have these huge copper pots in India which needed to be re -tinned often and its a dying art and frankly we had to get rid the pans because there was just no one who did the retinning any more.

I am in the US and a Google search turns up several companies which will accept pots and pans through the mail for retinning.
This website has a lot of good information about retinning high-quality copper pans:

Some new bits from cshops and the hoard. Spiffy faux Pearl clip ons 50p each. Green glass necklace £1. Silver (unmarked)enamelled tulip brooch £2.50, blue glass necklace with gold specks £1. The silver bracelet I’ve had for ages, can’t remember where I got it, pre diamond tester days and they do test as diamonds, weeny ones though. The mini glass star spoke paperweight is Strathearn £4. Bit pricy for me but I’ve learned what it is now and it’s pretty.

A few bits Ive picked up recently. I just love the colors in this oil on canvas. Funny ,but until the last decade or so my taste in art was very victorian. As Ive aged I find abstracts soothing, for lack of a better word.

Now this next find floored me ! Not only for the price, but the fact it had the stickpins in it! None marked, but I *think* the one with the blue stone is gold.It equally amazed me it wasnt wrapped and no one had boosted the pins!

I like the colors in that abstract. Not totally my style but I'd give it house room too. I'm surprised those stickpins didn't get boosted too! The one in the front looks like it has Egyptian influence on the design; I'd check that one too if the back doesn't tell the tale.
