My daughter and I set off for the boot sale this morning and stopped at the cash point on the way- empty!! So, with little cash in my pocket and no nearby cash machine we decided to play a game to see what we could find for the least money.
We were quite proud of how we did. And enough left over for an ice cream, sweets, two soft toys and a unicorn jumper.
    Hermes refillable atomiser £1

Thankyou @Hollyblue, you have saved me searching for its ID. I always pick up military items when I see them as I feel sad they end up at a car boot sale :(

Me too. I snag ruptured ducks as a matter of course - US Army honorable discharge lapel buttons. The more beat up the better.

As for that egg yolk amber, for 50p I'd have bought that house too! Someone worked hard on that house model/box.:p I'd have been sitting there with a beading board laying out that necklace that same night! It's a hand knot job if ever there was - keeps all the beads from rolling away if the string breaks.

Isn’t that like $300 + worth of Amber when made into a necklace?

    Nice haul!

OK, need translation for us poor Yanks, cash point is what we call and ATM (automated teller machine) in the US? And what is Tilley hat?

If not more. That opaque egg yolk sells for a pretty penny. Opaque white amber is even worse, if you're lucky enough to find some.

A Tilley hat is what it says on the inside of the hat, so one presumes it's a brand name. My guess is they're for gardening or other outdoor activity. If the sides are mesh I bought a similar one in khaki for my BiL this Summer.

Yes an ATM. Otherwise known as going to the ‘hole in the wall’!
Tilley hats are fantastic, Canadian made, last forever and they will replace them if they don’t. Think they are around £60 new so a bargain. 6E24FCE3-E14C-4169-A8CA-39A2B2DBB9DA.jpeg BF59699E-7CE8-47C4-A44F-D0C69BEA0034.jpeg

Thankyou. And only yesterday I was moaning it was a dry spell. The treasures are out there, just have to be patient and persistent.

I second that on Tilly hats: truly durable outdoor hats.

Fun game! I'm gonna try it with my son...

    Thankyou.
I can’t quite believe that they were still on the table. It was a house clearance seller who is seriously cheap so everyone crowds round. It was 3 hours in by the time I got to their table and I was standing waiting for two ladies to finish perusing (fighting over) the scraps of jewellery and I looked down at the table and they were right by my hand as if waiting for me. Barely a minute later another lady looked at the box in my hand and whispered ‘well done’ which was nice of her as she looked as if she wanted to say ‘damn it, two minutes earlier and they would have been mine!’
When have found some suitable thread and a gold clasp I will show you the results.

    Thanks @evelyb30 !
Just googled and that looks spot on. Apparently it cuts into pyramid shapes very well. I’ll try to get some good pics later when it stops raining as although the silver setting is modest, and there are a few flaws the clarity is amazing.

Lovely finds KSW. Do you catch AR a week ago when they had the HUGE Amber bead necklace valued at around £7k + I seem to remember. The largest bead looked like a small size King Edward potato. The expert said he had never seen beads that big.

    :eek::eek:
Sadly mine aren’t that big but I will proceed with caution! Having spent 50p on the bundle I think I’m ok for a profit :hilarious:
