Fotographs are in poor state but phenomenal.

young Italian servant touched my heart; I remember when I asked my parents why those children had to work. and us leisurely going to school.

they were sorted to different envelopes, and the rest of that heap was definitely Italian.
and besides that - she looks SOOO Italian with her wild hair.

After the new year I'm upgrading my computer RAM & possibly graphics card to handle a program I bought but have not yet installed!!! Using Artificial Intelligence, it's "supposed" to dramatically enhance clarity in images.....can't wait to see how much it will live up to its hype!! Meanwhile, Photoshop is not great at enlarging old images.....best I was able to get....and still small at that....using an older ver. of PS.....to me, it DOES look like double wheels, but others probably know better!!!

    You want hosses.

I found these in a house clearance.
I scanned in groups because of the number.

WWI The East Riding of Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry Regiment.

The last two are a fox hunt which was about 8 miles away from me, 1920.

Some more thoughts: I'm wondering if this photo was taken because it was a surprise early or late snowstorm that produced a lot of snow? I only say this because the horse doesn't have a winter coat (they did not full body clip horses then), and the girl in the foreground doesn't have boots on - just shoes. And no gloves. Perhaps the pic was taken to show the height of the snowbank as compared to the size of the horse?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    I've wondered about that, too.

I don't have any cards with horses on it, but this photo immediately took me back to my first ever classic book, Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. My Mum read it to myself and my little brother on Sunday evenings after our baths.

In chapter's 22 and 23 Black Beauty recounts vividly the detrimental effects of the over check rein on himself and his highly strung friend Ginger. In the UK we call it a bearing rein and it was the height of fashion to hold the carriage horses head as high as possible. I remember crying my eyes out at the time.

Come to think of it, I spent quite a lot of time crying at events that happened throughout the book.

Isn't it amazing how a random horse picture can bring so many happy memories back? Cwtched up with my mum, dad, little brother and Glen our border collie dog, on the couch. Thanks for posting this. Terrible as the cruelty was.
