Featured Porcelain Whatsit Figure Thing

I have no clue who made this. But the hair must have taken time. Would anyone have a clue? 6 3/4" tall.

 

Don't know whether this qualifies as a 'half doll', but you might see what a search using that term gets you. What is she holding in her left hand? Love letter?

 

Bron, my guess is a pen. She is thinking about what to write.

 

A takeoff on a Recency era lady penning a love letter, except that she's mostly bald.

 

Evelyb, not really bald. Her hair is mostly pulled back with just curls on the side.

 

It looks like Cordey, but not at all sure about that. And I agree that it looks like she's holding a quill.

 

And she sure looks bald to me! Mayhap she will appeal to the men and boys who have adopted the muffin hairstyle! It would be a change at least.

 

Overall, I think it comes across as grotesque. Neo-bald head, distorted muscular arms.

 

It is getting worse by the minute.
The figurine is slightly stylized, but she has a regular 1830s hairstyle and is wearing a regular 1830s dress with gigot sleeves:

 

Ahhh, the good old days......voluminous dresses, fancy ringlets and large broods

 

And LOTS of servants to keep up with all of the above.
