Hello Board Friends - I came across this vase at a local auction recently and, although I promised myself I would stop buying more stuff, I just couldn't resist bidding on it. It stands about 6 7/8" high. and is marked with a paper label and a partial seal on the bottom. In addition it has what I think are artist's initials and the word SWEDEN in black. I have researched as best I could and it looks older than most of the pieces I see for sale and it's brighter than any other vase I could find. I also couldn't find another vase marked SWEDEN so I assume it was marked as such for export. I was hoping someone could give me an approximate age and possibly identify the artist or the line. Thanks for whatever help you can provide. Don
Look on this website linked below. It looks like the initials on your vase are UA for Ulla Ahlgren. https://www.signaturer.se/Sverige/alingsas.htm
You're right, AJ! I'm doing better but still bringing in about as much stuff as I'm moving. I guess I'm treading water! Thank you, LauraGarnet02. That link was very helpful!
Alingsas Keramik, initials UA for Ulla Ahlgren, marked Sweden painted in black glaze. Same color scheme of yellow, red, black (no green though), geometric design, speckled white base glaze. Maybe something from the same line. https://www.therealreal.com/product...-ulla-ahlgren-for-alingsas-keramik-bowl-9h4bg
I wanted to plop this in here before I lose it. It looks like another vase from the same line. The bottom is a hot mess, illegible, but the seller says research leads to believe it is Ulla Ahlgren. https://www.etsy.com/listing/234114...how_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details
