I have joined boards before to try to glean more knowledge (not just because I’m a research fanatic) but because it’s important to me that I know what I have whether I’m placing a piece with a client, or building my own collection.

I’ve never had my question answered let alone responded to, and in a few short hours here, you all did both!

I don’t want to be over dramatic (but I totally will) I LOVE all pieces from the past so much, that sometimes I actually get emotional. I want to save everything and know every story. I want to learn everything I can so I can speak intelligently to why buying antiques/ vintage / used items is so very important. I’ve walked through more than one flea market openly weeping!

I am grateful that I might have found a place where people might feel the same as me (and I’ll even let the low key MCM shaming slide)

I have a lot to learn and I'm ready to start. Thank you so much for the warm welcome.

Learning the ropes of posting-where to list what can be challenging,maybe we need a new Forum-'Gratefulness'. Welcome kmills,you may actually be picking-up impressions from some of the items at the Flea Market,maybe you're a bit of a sensitive,or simply moved by the beauty of antiques as most of us are.
I guess we'd be Day Traders or Hedge Fund Managers if all we wanted was a buck-I think a lot of us do it because the beauty moves us too.

Also K-Used to be a rule to never post on 2 Forums simultaneously w/ the same item.Pick one,you'll get responses.

 

it's not so much a ' rule '...as , don't spam us with the same items on multiple Forums..........it's annoying !

 

-and try to reply to more current postings.i use to use the 'search' bar and start blabbing to postings that had ended in 2015.
