    No worries here!

I’m also old enough to know that the people who might have something useful to say are going to want pictures of the bottom of everything. Hopefully that will give them a clue!

I am older than you, but I don't know what a dixie cup is.
If you're wondering about possible European items, maybe use a more international reference that Europeans know as well?

They are lovely, I especially like the 'serpentine' ormolu mounts, but I don't see a link with Grand Tour items.

I still use them in my bathroom!
Likely an American thing (well... at least the brand name).

Dixie cups are a brand of small paper cups mostly used in a bathroom :)

We used to use Dixie’s in the bathroom when I was a kid. I just got nostalgic for the smell/taste of Dixie cups, which is odd because it’s not good. Single use though, not very earth friendly when cheap glass is available.

I buy them from Sam's & they come in 600 count package which lasts us several years. We hang the cup over our toothbrushes & I use mine for several days.

I guessed as much. We use glasses, which can be cleaned very easily.;)
My parents and grandparents used to have fancy bathroom sets which included several glasses on a proper tray, we just use any old glass.:playful:

I am a big fan of not having my toothbrush in the bathroom at all. That seems like a reasonable solution to the floating nasties though. I retreat with mine and leave it in a shelf nook in my bedroom on a charger.

does anyone recoginize the floral pattern? maybe that would help... I had one guy who has a vast amount of experience say he thought they were asian - I dont see that at all - but maybe the floral will help determine the region....

The paint looks hand-done, maybe hobbyist and maybe lady painter turned pro. The metal looks European. Beyond that dunno.

    Dixie cups... those I know.

This may seem obvious as I saw porcelain when you posted but....could they be glass instead? It seems I've seen similar looking painting on glass. But as I can't recall anything beyond that I'm no help.

As for Dixie cups, haven't used them in years but other brands yes. It's the water for washing vs cutting down trees debate. I have well water. If I run out of water it's a big problem right away so a vote for paper. If the trees disappear then boo for everything else, vote for glass and washing. Oye!

(I don't keep my toothbrush out in the open either)
