Featured Tall iridescent swung (??) glass vase -- vintage at least?

Lately I've been encountering a bunch of young people in their late 20's/early 30's who are enthusiastic collectors of vintage colored glass. Esp. the swung glass vases from the 1960's. I guess they are getting me to look twice as well.

This was at GW last week and I wasn't even positive it was vintage, but grabbed it. The base glass color is red. Would I call this carnival glass??

Does this have a maker anyone recognizes? THANKS!

 

The base made me think Northwood but Im often wrong. Luscious color.

I think you got it! I saw one very similar on Ebay listed as Indiana Heirloom Sunset Red Carnival glass. I'm still looking around, but I think this is the maker.

I went to an auction Saturday of a woman who had a huge collection of Carnival and Fenton glass. 2 years ago you could hardly give the stuff away. I thought they went for high prices. One woman was buying it all and she said she has a facebook marketplace store and she would sell all of it and make a good profit. And it was young people she said were buying it. I got one of the pieces I went for . The poodle and other scottie dog powder went for $25 a piece but I got mine undamaged for $11

Yep, Lark. I noticed there are a couple of Youtube "stars" you take you thrifting with them filming every second "to flip for a profit", and they are YOUNG and INTO GLASS! Fenton, things like fairly lamps, Carnival glass and more.

 

Well, it was just a matter of time before young people started noticing vintage glassware again. Maybe it's because all the new items are so darned expensive now. Or it reminds them of their grandmothers.

 

That's a great price, you did well! Was it the 2nd round of bidding? Where high bidder only wants one and without their bids, you get a bargain? Or the room thinks you'll just bid it up to your previous bid anyway and so lets it go to you? If so, don't you wonder how the other bidder feels about the price they paid? LOL, I just love auctions.
