    Try searching Julian Alden Wier. What a lovely box,could it be gilded silver ?

    Hi Johnny,

    Thank you for the input. I had a look at this artist and it seems that his last name is spelled Weir instead of Wier. Also the artist you pointed out is American, and from my research I guess this box is more likely to be Austrian l

    From what I know most of the pewter marks are stamped in a piece necause of its softness. This was painted on and has rubbed off. Defo not pewter. It is gold plated bronze.
