Featured Black Satin Glass Covered Bowl ID Needed

When I first saw this covered bowl, I thought it was pottery. It has a satin finish and it's glass. I can't seem to find any Google info on the sticker. Ya think that's a retail sticker or manufacturer's? THANKS!

One of the long time glassies around here told me once how Tiffin made that satin finish. Whenever you see it, you can be sure it's Tiffin, made in Ohio.

They took it outside in the yard and sprayed it with a fine acid mist that gave it that unique finish. He said that back in the day (I'm assuming 1950s or so) they didn't have all the safety laws. That entire area of the yard was dead, no living vegetation. He didn't know how the employees protected themselves. It made me shiver when he told that story as I imagined all the acid spray going out into the air. But those glass pieces are very unique and beautiful, especially the black ones which are my favorites.
