Can't seem to make out how old this corn pitcher is. Has an English registration mark. I've shown several views but my old, tired, blood shot, hung over, red, almost blind eyes can't make out the letters. THANKS!

They were used, if memory serves, between 1854 and 1883. I'm not expert enough to figure out yours beyond that.

The key is in the corners of the diamond shape. Maybe you could sprinkle some cinnamon on it to bring out the characters.
That said.......It looks too pristine to me to be from the mid 1800's. But i've been wrong before.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

@vitry-le-francois, I am NOT at all positive with what I've done to enhance the marks, but I looked at ALL of the mark images to try and come up with what I've done.....I'm LEAST sure of the POSSIBLE 4 mark near the top where I've put a red arrow.....best I can figure and it doesn't look right to me, but.....and it could be way off, or at least partially off!!

If that's a 14 at the top, it makes it one of the 1868-1883 grouping, but ... R on the right??? Looks like a B on the bottom. We really need an expert on this.

I agree 1868-83. I also agree that the letter on the right looks like an R, but it can't be. Nor can it be a B. The other option (to my mind) is a P with just some tiny wrinkle in the clay confusing things. That's 1877.

I collect corn pitchers. I have never seen that one before but I also live on the wrong side of the ocean to likely see that one.

Lark-Your kitchen's gotta be great with all the roosters and corn. Original antique paintings of fighting cocks can be quite expensive.
