Featured Student Desk made at San Quentin Prison

I picked up this desk at a thrift store. It has a label on the bottom that says "Manufactured at San Quentin Prison..." The rest of the label is hard to read.
I can't find anything about this online.
Does anyone know anything about these desks?

A google search of San Quentin Prison Furniture will turn up various articles. Apparently there's still a gift shop where you can buy prisoner made items today. There's nothing special about the desk itself that I can see, just one of many such items churned out by the prison laborers.

Looks like the chair/desk sets we had in college. Not good if you were left handed.

I was forced to be right handed because of that style of student chair!
