    I can buy that...

    I used to do technical illustration for JPL - they used an inking vellum I loved and used for my own work... It had a distinctive blueish cast to it and a fine texture. I probably have some somewheres.

    I remember it being called seaglass, but can't seem to find it online. :(

    I'd love to find some large sheets of it!

    illustrator for Boeing. I wonder where?

    Does the paint sit on the surface of the plate or is it flush with the surface?

    It appears to be flush with the surface but it's hard to tell

    If it is flush I would say it was acid etched and then the paint was applied. I'm not sure what the acid would have been applied to that would result in that pattern but if he was experimenting I suppose I wouldn't.
