I just saved this item from being thrown in the dustbin, and hopefully my action here is worth it, depending on your expert opinions here!

It is a porcelain piece, which at first glance may seem like any other cheap volume porcelain item out there, but looking at it further it seem to me to have some special qualities that must make it special (and i hope i am rithg here). The photos speak for itself really - it has a lot of humor and a lot of charm. It is 14 cm long, 10 cm wide and 7 cm high - and it seem to me to be in very good condition, with no cracks at all (sorry i have not even cleaned it up before taking the photos).

It has what seem to be a signature - see photo, but not at all much.

So - all my friends out there, is there anyone that can help me identify this - and could this be a piece to sell on my vintage shop on Etsy? (https://www.etsy.com/no-en/shop/VintageScandinavien?ref=seller-platform-mcnav). It is a hobby project, based on love more than profit - but very enjoyable, and these sort of items would be great to put in there (even if not Scandinavian) - if it has any sort of collector value, which i hope to get your help with here!

I haven't a clue about it, other than it's a good account for princely looking photos of what turn out to be frogs on Internet dating sites. Sure does give me a laugh! :hilarious::hilarious:

It's GOOFY. I'd have rescued that too; odds are some photography nut would go right for it.

Does anyone else remember Arthur Lobel's Frog and Toad books? (They came out while I was in college, but I still had to have every one of them!)

Anyway, THAT'S "who" (Frog and Toad) this delightful piece reminds me of - far more than anything else. It's far older, for sure, but it has that same sense of whimsy.

There are frog collectors so my bet is this might do well in an eBay auction.

The scallop shell made me think soap dish when I first saw it, but there really is not enough open space for a bar of soap. But it would be great for holding a razor, another turning a frog into a prince allusion? It also reminded me of this:

Sorry for responding late- but you are right, there is a pink line around it- but either very soft or gone now- which i guess can tell that this is an item used for something in the bathroom, as so many of you are thinking, and thus have been cleaned often, i dont know! But according to one advise in here, i will put it in auction on Ebay, as it really belongs to someone who can appreciate it to the fullest :) 20190213_180859.jpg frosk1.jpg

Sounds good! I’m sure someone will love to have it. It will appeal to different types of collectors. :)
