I get a European feel from it. It's a beauty!

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't Indonesia-does-Art-Nouveau. Will be interested in what others have to say.

Approx size might be helpful. Is it very light weight? The hanging loop doesn't look like it would hold a lot of weight.

It measures 19 1/2" x 7 1/2". It is fairly light in weight.

It just looks so perfect, making me think it isn't terribly old. But just guessing here. Also such a small hanging device for a near 20" mirror means must be some lighter weight wood and a fairly thin mirror.

Please wait for others though. Hard to tell from photos and someone else may know more if they are familiar with these.

It has a great look and I think would easily find a buyer.

They really can do remarkable things with Syroco... In the screen shot below, I think I can see the pressed wood.

    It's very pretty, @Daniel oshaughnessy

There's a thread on here somewhere where we picked apart the creative spellings of Syroco - Has anyone ever heard of Ornawood?? Composite material flower bowl

The Indonesian islands of Java and Madura have a distinct colonial Art Nouveau and Art Deco style, both in architecture and applied arts.
The flowers on this mirror are vaguely reminiscent of Madurese Art Nouveau, but their floral decorated items generally didn't have that roughly carved look and the flowers would be placed asymmetrically. The general look would be more refined and elegant.
I can't find a floral example, but here is a Madura keris sheath (not mine) with some carved foliage to give you an idea:

Don't think it is syroco as it is solid wood...not pressed or composite

If it is solid, I think that would mean it's entirely hand-carved, making it hella $$$$

    Blackforest?
