This was also in the lot of hatpins I bought. It's a pretty art nouveau piece. I managed to find one more that sold 2 years ago for $497!

I don't believe for one minute that this is worth that kind of money. But I do get excited when I see things like that.

Any info on it is appreciated. Thanks!

Nice Art Nouveau hat pin. The one you found that had sold must have been gold, this looks like costume, so you are right that it wouldn’t go that high. But people love vintage Art Nouveau pieces

No, it was sold as brass. That's why I was so surprised.

Try to find out which Mucha she's based on, or even it's another artist. The seller could be wrong...

I will upload 2 comparable sterling pieces later - I can't remember the name of the artist...

Walter Kerr - The second faces left, is half the size and a chatelaine. This one's pretty famous, and some do have stratospheric asking prices, but the large one is not that rare. NOR_Kerr Pin Sterling-1.jpg NOR_Kerr Pin Sterling-12.jpg NOR_Kerr Pin Sterling Chatelaine-2.jpg

I'm on a hatpins collectors site (you must be accepted to have access...)
You'd be surprised by the price these fellows are ready to pay to have some pieces...

Btw, that Mucha reference in a posted link is the broken part that the poster spoke of. Somehow, that title and a different pin were attached to the wrong picture.

THANK YOU @kyratango! You are SOMEbody!

What makes this one such a sleeper?

Sarah Bernhardt doesn't look nearly as ecstatic as the pin lady!
