Featured Chinese Snuff Bottle Depicting European?

Hi All,

Would love to here your thoughts on this snuff bottle.

It has what I think is a Quianlong mark to the underside? Which doesn't obviously tell us very much.

What I find interesting is that it seems to depict a European woman with long hair. Has anyone come across anything like this before??

The colours look quite artificial to me which makes me think 20th century but thought I would ask you guys for a second opinion.

I wonder if it might be after some European bottle. That word on the side might be a really bad copy of European text.

I think you might be right. First letter looks like an S and the last an E.

Could be a copy of an original piece from that era? The colours look a little too vibrant to be pre 20thC?

 

It is a recently made bottle, 21st century. Those red plastic stopper tops are typical of post-2000 bottles, which is why the applied dirt on the bottom doesn't really work.
Not a copy of anything Qianlong or otherwise traditional, just a recent combination of images that were thought to appeal to buyers. Nudes always sell. It is hand painted, but no great quality.

Europeans are not uncommon on Chinese art.
