I found this at a local thrift store today. Looking up the artist's name I found a similar painting with the same name & style signature on worthpoint, but when I got home I couldn't find it again!
I think the first name was Karl? Anyone know the artist/artist's complete name?
    Any thoughts on the painting?
    Thank you!

The person describing their painting on worth point is getting it mixed up with the artist in the link I just posted. Your artist is not well known. The artist in the link has a totally different style/technique than the one on worthpoint. It's probably by someone who was inspired by someone else's work or something along those lines

The artist is Raymond Hoschke. Born January 1918 and passed in 1974. Most of his work were seascapes. He would set up his easel on the boardwalks of Long Branch, Asbury Park and Atlantic City New Jersey to paint. He also attended and displayed his art at the art shows in those areas and New York.

I have a seascape painting from this artist that has been in my family for 40+ years, and this is the most I have ever learned about the artist! Thanks!

WOW! Back in 1965 and just married, my wife and I were at an outdoor art festival in Forest Hills NY in September. We saw a painting that was so attracting to us that we went over to the man, Ray Hoschke and he explained that they were his vision of two old men of the Sea that were discussing their ventures. (How do I post the picture?)

I purchased this painting in the late 1960’s from the artist on Long Island NY. It is interesting because he didn’t paint it on a canvas. It is painted on plywood and framed.
    It is beautiful.

I have a Ray Hoschke portrait of a rabbi. We grew up referring to him lovingly as "the old man" painting. We loved him but didn't know it was a rabbi. My mom gifted him to me and he now hangs in my Living Room. This site was so helpful in learning more about the artist!!
