I bought this vase at an auction and can't ID It. It's frosted and wavy and has 3 flying fish feet that hold it up. Measures 7 1/2" high and 4" in diameter. The fish feet look like flying fish to me. They have a fin or spine that goes up the side of the vase and pressed into the glass next to their heads are wavy gills (?) like you see on some tropical fish. Anyone have any ideas? TY!

    These look similar - catawiki.

    First half 20th century, Belgium

Two beautiful candlesticks in pressed glass. The underside consists of frosted pressed glass, debouch(?) into 4 fish. Condition is very good, no damages.

These creatures are described as dolphin/serpents or, more recently, koi. Someone may know what they are actually based on.

Also described as dolphins - i knew whst these creatures were at one time, just can't dredge it up.

Inwald, of course!! I think that's it, cxgirl, but will do more checking just to be sure. I had a different Inwald vase in the past and it was "fishy" also. Should have known but just couldn't get the brain pathways worked around to it.

Scouts, those candlesticks show the same fish. They are gorgeous and I wish they were mine.

Thanks so much!! Now I get to go to sleep. Exhaustion is setting in.

I think they are different, bumps on the head (up from the open mouth) on yours, scales on the one scoutshouse posted.
Those are nice candlesticks posted scoutshouse:)

I found a person's collection over on Pinterest and it includes this vase, ID'd as Boralac, Josef Inwald. It seems accurate. Here's a link to the page, try not to drool all over it. Now I really am going to bed. Nite, Nite everyone and thanks!

    Gorgeous vase, ola.
I had never heard of Barolac, but found this:

"Barolac glass was produced in CzechoSlovakia at the Inwald glassworks during the 1930's for export to England."
    http://www.glassencyclopedia.com/Barolacglass.html

Just wondering, since Barolac glass was made after the death of Josef Inwald himself, was Barolac made using Josef Inwald's original designs? Or was ola's vase made during the lifetime of Josef Inwald? The design looks early Deco to me, with a hint of Art Nouveau.

Also referred to as sea serpents in the glass world.

Barolac continued with Inwald designs, some of which went on a fair old while.

Thanks, that explains it. Is there any way of telling the period this was made in? During his lifetime, or after?

Oof. Hard to say. But the mould lines are very crisp, and on much glass that tends to mean earlier in the lifespan. (It's REALLY apparent on Whitefriars!)
