Well I think you've gotten pretty dern close. That looks a lot like her except for the hair color. I appreciate any and all advice because I am a total novice and know NOTHING about this sweet girl.

Tell these children of yours that if they're not nicer to this darling baby, I'm sending this lady to come have words with them!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I believe that composition stopped being used for dolls in the 1940s or very early 1950s. And it was also used much earlier in the 20th century. So she's older than 1950s, at least.

Figtree is correct, composition type dolls were discontinued during the early forties when early plastics were developed, dolls were then made of hard plastic .. vinyl dolls arrived on the scene later. She is a lovely baby doll and appears to be in GREAT condition, unless she is marked it will be difficult to identify her, but the USA was prolific in the making of these dolls. The great thing about them was the fact that they were much more able to withstand the breakability of the older dolls .. and many of them still survive to this day. She is LOVELY, and deserves the love that she has been given all these years. .. Joy. :)

My first baby doll looked a lot like yours with the dark hair, hint of a smile, similar eyebrows - probably 1940-42. Mine had a rubber like body that fell apart years later. I think she was called DiDee or something similar.

You may have already seen this but probably not the animation to show anyone who thinks dolls are creepy!. My daughter has had sleepless nights after they watched this in school. I watched it and have to agree..... only 5 minutes long.
P.s love the doll, I've got a smaller similar one that my girls think is creepy too.
