Featured A good day at the op shop part 3

Ok so this one I guess is a pot pourri ball. not sure what else it could be used for.

I believe it is pressed glass not cut.
Im not sure how old it is or who made.
Approx 150mm in diameter and about the same high. (approx. 8 inches)

If anyone has any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

A charity thrift in Australia.

my first exposure, however, was to the one started by our family church on Long Island when an Australian couple moved here and brought up the idea to the women's group. Mom volunteered there when I was in college.

I think that's an ivy ball. And I think it's EAPG, it looks very familiar. I'll bet either @TallCakes or @Cherryhill know the manufacturer and pattern name.

OMN is Alexis by Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton but better known by AKA of Priscilla and reproduced by Wright. the was a rose bowl I find noted as in the original line is a bit different, so this is likely a Wright reproduction. If it's an original line it must have been fashioned from a larger piece like a celery vase, as I'm not seeing similar noted as 6" (150 mm) ball... or perhaps Wright fashioned it... you might black light it...

FYI: an Ivy Ball is a rose bowl on a stem...

 

Thank you, I thought the mouth of an ivy ball was smaller than a rose bowl. But now I know better!

I initially googled rose bowl but that is apparently something completely different. Hahaha

I googled Wright Rose Bowl and pics of this exact same albeit different colours.

Ive honestly never heard of and ivy or rose bowl so this is a new learning day.
