Featured Era of antique abalone, horn, and bone buttons?

    These buttons have a horn and abalone top over a bone back. (The abalone has more color than I captured in the photos)

    I'm curious if anyone knows anything about their age or origin? I know they're antique and I've seen similar buttons attributed to the 1870s-1880s and others to circa 1900.

    Any info will be much appreciated. :)

    Very nice, Pat. I love the way the mop/abalone bars would be slightly askew when sewn on a coat.
