Hi there. Haven't been on the forum for a while. Know your always a welcoming bunch though:angelic::joyful:

I went to an auction today and saw a few things I loved but a bit dumbfounded to find out more about them. I'll attach my photos. I appreciate any help.

I have guesses about a few but I'd prefer to dip into the vast knowledge of the forum for surity haha

Sailor-made gambling dice. Pass the idle time on the ships gambling for tobacco and such. (Whether they're made by a sailor? Who knows)

A quick search turned this up:

I guess yours could be dice shakers.

I'd check those Meerschaum pipes for silver marks. they pay good money - sometimes.

Very cool stuff. I want to shop where you shop!

the one that looks like a plaster form for an architectural molding caught my eye since I've renovated a house from 1888.

found this tiny one, maybe for plaster frames rather than walls: https://www.etsy.com/listing/661718...piId4MiafUHLRolY-qJM4iA1O8YMAfKkaAg1nEALw_wcB

much older 18th C wood mold:

Initial information seems sparse, and resources seem to take you deeper into historical processes of ornamental plaster restoration.

Fruitful information might show up in old catalogs from the turn of the 20th C that might have sold tools to plaster craftsmen. That's all I got.

I'd jump all over that writing box. It's definitely olive wood, and you can't get big pieces like that any more; that writing box might be pre-Independence and probably is. Antique Israeli pieces can go for some fat bank.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

LOVE that Olive Wood box!!!! Looks like a Calligrapher's box.....places for nibs, pens, paper, maybe ink? NIIIIICE!!!!!!

Then that close-up of - I think it's one of the Meerschaum Pipes (?).....looks to have several places for marks.....but you don't have it in hand and it SO NEEDS polishing to see better!!!!! Also, the two CIRCLES enclose two separate stars that just look too co-incidental to be accidental!!

Thanks for all loving the writing box... I was looking at my phone when it went haha. I was gutted I would have won it for £20 or something. I didn't go for the plaster mould but thats some great research and I'll definately be knowledgeable enough to buy one in the future.

I ended up buying from this post :

    - The two paintings, the bearded white man and the grey architectural study?
-The Asian Bronze and Brass vase

And I'll add the other things I got here. None of the pipes I originally posted but some others instead haha

What I think are all 19th century but am unsure about the family scene one. The best by far is the gilded brass pipe. I have found out as much as I can but I can't find a lot of similar sales history
