I know, this is a difficult one, but we have some search geniuses, and genius Frenchies:playful: on board. @kyratango?:)
It is a delicate French lavalier(e) necklace, silver, with boar's head mark on the clasp.
The central part is gold with a silver front and clear stones set in millegrain settings and a Med red coral pendant.
Given the gold back and silver front with millegrain, I think it is early 20th century.

The maker's mark is a G in the top of the diamond shape, and an R at the bottom. Dividing the two letters is what looks like a three masted ship.
Does anyone recognize the mark, and know during which period GR worked?

    Thank you for looking.

    The central part:

Boar's head mark for .800 silver on clasp:

Maker's mark GR with ship? on the back of the gold central part. These marks are always tiny and difficult to photograph, I hope you can discern enough:

The top mark is the same as the bottom mark, just sideways and incomplete. The bottom mark is complete, and the right way up.

Halas... There was once a very useful page on vienslechercher.com with lots of French makers marks in alphabetical list with symbols. They removed it from the site!

NICE! I'd guess Belle Epoque/ Edwardian for age, and would have bought that too. That's elegant.

Thanks, evelyb, that was my guess too. Somehow it is even more elegant when you wear it, it works with the wearer, like some jewellery does.:)

Thanks Bronwen. The first time I checked it, I kept going around in circles, the second time it was inaccessible (temporarily?). I did find out there were several goldsmiths with initials GR, but most signed G.R.. Whenever I clicked on a G.R., it sent me back to the search box.:banghead: I'll try again later.

The last time I tried to consult it before trying to look for your mark it was also inaccessible. Just had my fingers crossed it was back up & it was. Must be the Brigadoon of web sites.

I hope it stays where I put it.
I will take a look too when I get a chance. So a G on top, a ship, an R below? Top to bottom?
    It did not stay! :rage::rage:

If you put like this in initials
    ‘G.R’ it should work.

Think I tried G R and G B, as well as voilier. Got results, but none that matched AJ's mark. The jeweller Charles Flusin, in business 1888 - 1892 used un voilier & initials C F. I don't know enough French to come up with other good words for the symbol.

Probably. The only bit I stored in memory was that there were makers with the initials; none with a ship for a symbol.
