I just donated a Barbie mountain cabin to a local charity thrift. The USPS new cubic rates are going to make shipping on that sort of thing ridiculous, and it had some damage. The clothes on the other hand, could earn you a few bucks.

They probably would, but I will also donate them as part of a charity gift at Christmas. I always take the doll tags off of trees, and this lot, in a box, would make some little girl ecstatic. I think people buy the larger items here to resell at flea markets and antique malls (so much modern stuff in those malls now.)

Biggest earrings on the planet. And, three lovely Czech Art Deco buckle halves, which I need to repurpose.

The earrings don't look that huge. The got a lot bigger in the 80s.

Gorgeous belt buckles, Bear. I still wear some of my pierced honker 80s earrings. There is, surprisingly, a market for them. Just call them "80s glam" or "runway."

Evelyb, I love that white jade necklace more every time I see it. The white and the pink tones are stunning.

If I don't post some finds from recent treasure-hunting trips now, I will never get to it. These are from an outdoor antique show a few weeks ago. The sterling marcasite brooch is large, and was $5.

All less than $5. Green glass, $4. Compact, $3. Bow pin, $2. Circle pin, $1. Swarovski bracelet, $1. Best find: Christian Dior cat, purrfect, $3.

This 52" strand of rhinestones necklace was in the dollar bin.

Saturday finds. This lady was selling her mother's stuff, and her jewelry prices were all over the place. The brooch is Regency, slight nick on one pearl, oh well. The tiny queen conch cameo pin has little tiny round pearls I didn't notice at first. The larger brooch/pendant cameo is not marked- did they make base metals in rose and green gold? My favorite is the yellow stone necklace. I thought is was citrine, but it tests as yellow sapphire. On an 18" chain. The rose is ivory on a sterling chain. Resin? cameo came from the end of an estate sale, one of three pieces of jewely for a dollar (c clasp back.) The pendant seems to be black glass, not sure of age. The earrings were an end of day yard sale find, all but the round CZs center are sterling (end is mystic topaz) whole card a dollar.

The lady was a talker, drove me nuts. The compact lid may be 800 silver or sterling. The stones are rubies. Couldn't leave it behind. The celluloid butterfly, $6. The Lea Stein brooch was from a thrift shop on the way home, $3. Estee Lauder compact, never used, $1, yard sale. yard sale mem weekend 3 (597x640).jpg
GF jadeite earrings and sterling ovals, black MOP cuff links $1 each, yard sale.
Little 14k earrings were from that estate sale, one of three pieces of jewelry for a dollar. Shoshannah earrings, for ME, $2 yard sale. The rest, sterling bracelet, 14k ball earrings, 14k ballet shoes charm, and 14k 8 " bracelet with 14k charms, 50 cents each, yard sale.

I just followed yard sale signs off the main drag all day. I got lost going to a few, but it is amazing what was out there, even late in the day Saturday.

Bear, I always pick up this style of earring. I love the old glass ones made in West Germany. Yours look sooo much like turquoise. I saw a white wooden mirror that had these types of earrings glued all around the perimeter, it was stunning. A project for when I retire.

I have a couple handles of Sabino glass from a vanity tray. I would love to find a complete tray set. Any idea where I could find one??

They might be Waltersperger glass. I had a pair of French perfume bottles that I thought were Sabino, but wiscbirddog helped me out to discover they were indeed made by Waltersperger.

This bottle is similar to mine.

You can learn a little more about them here.

The routes to our shore towns set up yards sales on Memorial Day to get people heading down to stop. Signs from the main drags took me miles and miles off the routes, but it was all good.

I will double check when I get home, but I believe they were.

It has been nearly impossible to find anything on this (because I instantly fell in love with it of course).

Isn't it?? I have never seen anything like it. And the worst part of all, is that set in the picture sold at an auction for just $60!! I missed the auction by ONE HOUR. Ahhhhhh it was horrible!

Don't fret over that. You do not know how high the winner of the auction was willing to go.
