Featured Miniature change purse Whiting and Davis style

I didn’t see any markings. It is about 3 inches wide. Thanks!

    metal....likely steel.....I'd guess 20's........but maybe earlier....

    I know you said you looked, but polish the frame & look again. If you have a jeweler’s loupe or a good magnifying glass, check carefully around the *inside* of the frame for ‘sterling’ or other mark. Whiting & Davis often used tiny metal tags which were attached on the inside of frame, but sometimes these were lost over time…. and of course others made these besides W&D, throughout the last 100 or so years.

    I was just looking at some of my sister's little change purses. Hers were very similar and she said they were Whiting and Davis. Hers were from the 40's though. purses.jpg
