Featured Plaster (I think?) Jesus Face Plaque

    I found this cool plaque at the flea market for 2 euros today. It has some mortar around the edges, like it was once part of a building's facade. It seems unusually good quality, which makes me wonder if it might be old or valuable. It's 8.85 inches (22.5 cm) in diameter and 1.18 inches (3 cm) deep from the top of the rim to the bottom of the rim (the Jesus face extends beyond that point.

    Nice rendering!
    Rather than plaster, I think bisque/porcelain.
    The thorns, if made from plaster wouldn't last long:)

    I basically call anything white plaster, so thank you for clarifying :) It weighs about 3 pounds.

    Faint signature. My gut feel is Austrian or thereabouts.

    It looks like 160 SG. I've been trying to find German artists, but I'll look for Austrian, too.

    I think the sig may be different than you think, but really need a better picture to be sure. :pompous:
