Hello Everyone - This is my second mystery pitcher. This one stands 9" tall. The pattern and bottom look the same as the first pitcher I posted but the top is crimped and in a tri-corn shape. Also the handle is reeded. What looks like it might be a crack near the center is actually a wrinkle in the glass. Is this another Hobbs Brockunier? Thanks for whatever guidance you can offer.

Nope, this isn't Hobbs, Brockunier. I can't find my copy of Lee Marple's book on Phoenix, it might be in there, but I don't recognize it. My loss.

    Nice pitcher.

I don't have the Marple book I'm afraid. I do have Wilson's Phoenix/Consolidated book though. Will look in there and see if any copies of Marple are available on line. Thank you, as always, for your willingness to share your knowledge.

It's very close. Looks like it's a melon shape version though. Thank you ulilwitch.

You are welcome. I guess yours would be considered reversed amberina anyway.

I believe you are correct. The colors are richer and the blending so much smoother than later amberina. I guess it's that craftsmanship which makes the older glass so much more charming.:)

It does not show this shape in the Marple book. The extreme crimp makes me think it may be newer. It's hard to judge without a hands on.

Funny about "Reversed Amberina". When a piece is on the blowpipe, and is struck, the bottom is where it would be struck.

To put the ruby at the top, it would have to be broken from the blowpipe, stuck up on a punty rod, and reheated at the top, reversing the position of the piece.

IMHO this pitcher is Ruby Amber, ruby plated inside an amber pitcher, not a struck color. Again, IMHO. Both pieces above exhibit a distinct line between red and amber. And the amber color, (as noted) is stronger than the amber in Amberina.
