Featured Terra Cotta Wolf Cubs Dogs What Am I Piece

hi all,
this belongs to a friend of mine, not sure what this is. It is 12"L x 6 3/4"H, marked on the base but not finding anything under that name.
Any information appreciated

the question is it's age....those can go for serious money...if old.

 

Because they are so cute and desirable, Colima dogs have been very frequently reproduced by Mexican potters since the 19th century. Without documented provenance, it would be safest to assume it is not genuine precolumbian.

 

If it is an SS number, it was issued in New Jersey...

 

It is definitely a later terracotta Colima or Xolo dog pair, but older souvenir terracotta Xolo dogs can fetch very nice prices. This pair could be 1960s-70s, when these Xolos started to flood the international market.
