Featured Exam Time: 6 Brooches Correctly ID'd?

I think brooches are not in style to wear right now, although people like them. I wear them sometimes, mostly because I have a metal allergy and they are one type whose parts don't really touch the skin! And it's fun to wear more than one at a time.

 

Probably one of my favorite jewelry pieces to get an estate sale, a big honkin' colored rhinestone BROOCH/PIN (if my fairy godmother is listening...a Schreiner would be nice.... ) but like both Rachel and Fig, I almost never wear brooches. Yet it's my favorite thing to find. Go figure.

One problem is that I worry a brooch will leave pin holes in a jacket. I think fabrics used to be thicker for coats maybe and this wasn't an issue?

I did buy a used Chico's shimmery blue vest from Goodwill last Xmas and loaded that thing up with 8 Christmas pins for a party, but other than that I don't think I wore a brooch last year.

 

A lot of blokes here are wearing fancy brooches.

 

Here too. I like it when men wear jewellery.

 

Lots of guys wear them as boutonnierres in weddings and at dressy affairs. It's environmentally friendly and they may be taking a fashion tip from Hollywood red carpets. I still wear brooches sometimes.

 

I think I'd wear more if my jackets/coats allowed them! My shirts are often too light weight and my winter sweaters usually have a leathery coat over them.

Rings are another thing I never wear but still look at. I found a really beautiful Art Deco sterling ring on Sunday but she wanted more than I could spend, shame! I least I got to handle it and observe.
