Hi all, I came across these two Return to Tiffany heart charm bracelets recently. I have been searching the net to try and figure out if they are real and I think one may be, the other I'm thinking not. Lots of photos below, above each detailed photo will be my comments based on what I read in my travels through the internet.

I would appreciate anyone's comments on if I have a real one here, as always, you help is much appreciated :)

In all the photos, the one on the left is the one that came with the pouch, the one on the right was just in a little baggie.

Here are the fronts of the charms, the one on the left looks good, the stamping is centered, doesn't come too close to the edges, the logo looks good to me. The one on the right the stamping comes too close to the edges, the logo looks a bit chunky.

Here is the back of each charm, I didn't find out anything about how this should look.

This may be hard to see but I was trying to get a shot showing that the charm on the left is perfectly flat. The charm on the right is slightly domed and I read that is not good. You can also see a slight doming when looking at the front closeup shot above.

These are two photos of the chains, one the whole chain, the second a close up. Both have round links except for the one the clasp attaches to, that one is slightly oval. Both have soldered joints. The one on the left the links are slightly larger and the bracelet overall is slightly heavier.

So I am thinking the one on the left is authentic and the one on the right is a repro. Does anyone agree or disagree?

    Thanks so much!

They did make them both ways for the bracelets and chokers so I would say they both are authentic. I just sold a choker with the double attachment on the heart.

I'm no expert and hope I'm wrong, but I'm hesitating about both. The one on the right feels off, the wording a bit off-center as mentioned. As for the one on the left, when I enlarge your 2nd photo above, there is kind of a blob or depression under the "K" in NEW YORK. Unless that was damage after purchase, that would seem to be a bit of a flaw which I wouldn't expect in Tiffany.

I'm no expert in these for sure, could be right as rain, so wait for others.

I'm not sure what current policy is, but at one time you could stop in a Tiffany store and ask them to clean a piece, pretty sure you'd get your answer if they are still doing that as a free service.

I never bought much in the way of Tiffany. Too many fakes out there. When I do get some, they get resold to a local antiques dealer. He tests things and I either make stuff out of the fakes or just pitch them. There were a jillion fake ones back in the 90s and they're still showing up. That said, unsoldered links are a sure sign. Take a magnet to the suspect items, i.e. all of them, and make sure nothing but the clasp sticks.

Both seem slightly off? Like high end repros. However I love to be wrong about things like this! I would find the exact one each is, or is trying to be, this should tell you. This is the most faked series out of all of them by a wide margin.

Here is a closeup of he left charm, I don't see anything under the K.

I do not live anywhere near a Tiffany store so I can't bring it to be cleaned :(

As I said, all the links are soldered. I checked both with a magnet and no attraction.

Can you be specific about what makes you say they both look off, what do you feel is wrong?

I don't have much in these, so if they are both repros they will go off to the scrapper.

Is the chain on the bracelet solid or made from tubes, can't tell if it's the lighting in the photo or poor soldering. The soldering look poor on a number of links also.

What I was talking about was what looks like a little divet or depression under the "K". I realize these are enlarged photos, but noticed it, since we are looking for anything that might be a red flag.

Would be a shame to melt them if they were real. How do they feel in the hand?

There are so many fakes out there it pays to be sure. Hope they are the real deal. :)

Something to look for is any deforming of the metal around the impressed letters. A true Tiffany piece should be totally flat around the letters. The one on the right shows deformation quite clearly. I agree that the one on the right is a repro. Harder to tell from the photos about the one on the left in regards to this aspect.

The <—left one links welding is not good. That’s fake.

    I see it too.

Imo the one on the right is definitely fake, as you already thought. But I have my doubts about the one on the left as well.:(

OK, I see what you are seeing, yes there is a slight depression behind the middle of the K.

As I said, no Tiffany store is anywhere near here, so that isn’t happening.

OK, off to the scrapper with these.
