What is it? A dresser, a buffet or something else? When was it made? Should I polish the brass or leave the patina? I don’t have room for it. Where should I list it to reach those who would really appreciate it? Should I use restore a finish on it? Thank you in advance for your time and information.

Welcome, Wonderingpath. Your thumbnails are too small to see your pictures at their best advantage. Perhaps you can upload larger versions (the limit is 1 MB almost 4 times larger than your thumbnails.) Knowing where you are will also help us to answer your "where to list" question.

It is a dresser. Restor-A-Finish should help this out a bit. I would leave the hardware alone unless excessively dirty. Then, clean only. Do not polish. I don't see anything particularly special about this. Tobey is better known for their Mission furniture. This just looks like nice used functional furniture to me. I would think a local sale warranted on some place like facebook marketplace.

Thank you for the clarifying questions! I enlarged the photos. I'm in Wisconsin - about 2 hours from Chicago. Because the area is well known for their arts and crafts houses I'm wondering if I should look for someone there.

What style is it? It's too clean lined to be arts & crafts but it's not boxy enough to be craftsman. How would I find someone who specialists in this era of furniture? Here are some examples of the more mission style pieces. https://www.acstickley.com/?s=tobey

From my research I've found Gustav Stickley worked at Tobey for a while and his early work was unsigned. They made furniture from 1856 - 1954. There are different versions of the Tobey makers mark. How do I date this mark?
