Featured Islamic? Charm

    Do you think this is an Islamic good luck charm?
    I’m wary of listing anything when I don’t know what the script means.
    Presumably that’s a coral bead- does it have significance - and the two hands?. Any age to it?
    Any help welcome :)

    Definitely Islamic. Typically it would be a verse from the Quran. Hand of Fatima or hamsa & crescent moon. I don't know about the coral, but probably is believed to have protective properties. That's why they used to put coral beads on babies/small children. Word for the day: apotropaic.

    Would have been mightily surprised if you had not needed to. Only learned it recently myself. I flitter around the edges of a world where they use words like that.

    I am not sure, but it could have been part of a hair ornament called 'agal', which was once worn on Djerba, a Tunisian island.
    Tunisian waters have been a source of coral since antiquity. In North Africa coral is thought to help ease menstruation and women's ailments.

    An agal, the pin went into the hairdo at the back of the head:
