    Is this a students copy of earlier work Painting Le Lapin Agile à Montmartre
    or a study painted by a listed artist?

    I suspect that's the work of a Philadelphia art student who was experimenting with impasto.

    Taken at Le Lapin Agile, c1905.
    You can see Picasso's "Au Lapin Agile" hanging on the back wall in this photo. The guy with the guitar is the owner of the cabaret, Frédé Gérard.

    Fantastic photo. I think the guy with the pipe is Raoul Dufy. And the woman far right looking a bit glum could well be Suzanne Valadon.
