More likely the resultof the artist not leaving enough space at the edge to account for the frame overlap.

Absolutely true and my life has been ruled by an addiction to art since childhood as I’m from a family of dealers. I have never bought anything based only on investment except for Koons plates LOL and I let go of them way too soon except for one which I still have. Everything else was bought out of love but investment was always a consideration.

I do believe that overall the best way to make a small fortune in art is to start with a much larger fortune.

I wouldn't call that either folk art or surrealism.

Not every work falls neatly into an ism. I’d just call this one Figurative.
