Featured What Is This Golden Screw Made For? Perhaps Hair?

    It's roughly 3 1/2" long, 7/8" wide at the loop end; the wire is 0.085" OD, but appears to be made of a core (non-ferrous) wrapped (there's a linear seam, mostly invisible) in gold...pics 1 & 2 show that core protruding from what must be wear of the gold wrap at the tips. Total weight is 8.8 grams.
    The only purpose I can imagine for it is to secure long hair into a bun or some other gathering upon or near a woman's head. What are your thoughts an' observations? Thanks for lookin'!

    Yes, it is for hair. If you google 'hair screw' or 'spin pin', you will see many like it.
