I found a group of 7 different wood engravings by Remington APuttingfireout.jpg yesterday. They are on wood board with a yellow looking glue or wax backing. They are about 8 x 11 inches. I think they were used by Harper's Weekly as cover print plates in the late 1880's. Some are framed like this one, others are not. Can you tell me more about them?

I would post more images, but the site keeps rejecting the size.

Two cowboys dragging a buffalo or cow hide over the fire to smother it and at the rear other cowboys stamping it out.

It's just a frame the fit the engraving.
