Again, helping a neighbor identify this art/mirror. I edited the pics the best I could to brighten the image.

Any input is greatly appreciated!! It appears to be some sort of print but in rough shape. These were made for decorational purposes back in the 30s/40s.

Thank you! I didn’t want to try and take off the backing but that might be possible to determine the composition of the artwork on top of the mirror. I did notice the new hardware and wanted to share as much detail as possible about that and the frame. I know it’s important in helping to identify. Appreciate the input!!

Are the dark brown "discolorations" obscuring the image of the "art" in the 2nd and 3rd pictures actually reflections or shadows?

You might look at images by Nicolas Lavreince (Niklas Lafrensen), a Swedish painter who liked this type of scene. Seems quite a few of his paintings were subsequently published as engravings.

Or another Nicolas: Nicolas IV Larmessin (fourth in a family string).

Oh! Oh! Check Lavreince "Le Billet Doux".

The hardware is not original to the frame. I think the frame is from the last quarter of the 19th century. It's difficult to tell from your photographs but it does look like it was water gilded.
