Jade would not be my choice of stone for hitting things. It is a VERY soft stone!
Often old photographs fade. Usually, the topmost layer fades first creating a ghosting appearance.

Clean with soap & water, rinse, dry. Then use Teak oil, it will not build up and it will penetrate into the stone.
